LASSITHI PLATEAU

First stop of this tour the traditional village of Krasi. Second stop on the mountain road, the monastery of Panagia Kera. It is believed that the founding of the monastery is connected with the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, from which it takes its name (Kera means Our Lady). According to tradition, during the iconoclastic period, this icon was moved to Constantinople, but returned miraculously.

Heading at the heart of Lassithi Pateau, you pass by beautiful scenery and you can admire the windmills that used to irrigate the land.

Next stop is at the ceramic workshop. There you can enjoy a professional workshop to see how traditional ceramic are made and you can try also to do one by yourselves. From there you will go to Seli Ampelou where you can take photos of the old windmills. Last stop at village Avdou for a last walk to enjoy the Cretan countryside.
